Mood Care: An HSN Formula to Brighten Your Day
Mood Care by EssentialSeries is an exclusive HSN formula made from natural plant extracts that follow highly controlled nutritional quality criteria. It also contains vitamins carefully selected in the best forms for maximum absorption, metabolisation, and optimal effects.
The plant combination of Mood Care has been specially chosen by the experts in the Research and Development department of HSN. Thanks to extensive scientific research aimed at breaking new ground in the field of food supplements, they have innovated to develop an unrivalled formula called ‘Mood Care’.
Mood Care is allergen-free, so it is suitable for all people, regardless of their nutritional requirements or preferences, as it is also suitable for vegan diets and is free from Genetically Modified Organisms.
Mood Care: You Want It in Your Daily Routine. Here’s Why
At HSN, we develop products for all kinds of purposes. Many of them end up in the unique and exclusive formulas of our ‘Care’ range, aimed at different needs and the care of various systems. Some examples are:
- Liver Care: For liver health.
- HSN Care: For nail, hair, and skin improvement.
- Gluco Care: To keep blood glucose at normal levels.
- Brain Care: To improve intellectual performance.
Mood Care joins the ranks of our Care products, in this case, focused on improving mood and supporting emotional balance thanks to the compounds it contains in its composition.
The plant extracts used are not ordinary ones. Take a look
It is therefore important to understand why the plant extracts contained in Mood Care are not just any old herbal extracts like those found in other products on the market.
Our experts have explained to us in detail every aspect that must be considered to establish the quality of a plant extract. All of them are controlled and optimised by HSN.
The concentration is the numbers separated by a colon and means the equivalence of the extract’s concentration to the native raw material from which it was derived, i.e.:
A 3:1 extract of Saffron indicates that each milligram of extract is equivalent to 3mg of the plant’s natural stigma.
This is really what defines an extract, its concentration or extraction, which is roughly how potent it is. A more concentrated extract is the same as consuming more of the plant than you would normally use in a regular powder.
Plant species are important because differences in them mean that they have different natural properties.
Don’t trust products that do not state the scientific species used in the development of their supplements. At HSN, you will find the exact, certified species of the plant employed.
Just as the species is important, the plant part used is also important, as not all parts of the same plant have the same concentration of nutritionally relevant active compounds.
For instance, our outstanding lavender extract is an oil extract from the lavender leaf, which is the part with the highest concentration of terpenoids that makes lavender an interesting plant for use as a food supplement.
Standardisation is the guaranteed content of these compounds of interest mentioned above. This is key.
Most plant extracts sold in the form of food supplements are of low quality, and therefore do not standardise their content of internal compounds. If the extract is not good and the content is not standardised, the plant may have no effect and you could be paying for nothing.
At HSN, we standardise most of our plant extracts, except for those that must be full-spectrum for nutritional interest, and this sets us apart.
You will find the assured content of Rosavins and Salidrosides in Rhodiola extract; 5-HTP in Griffonia, Linalyl Acetate and Linalool in Lavender oil; polysaccharides in Lion’s Mane extract, and the unique blend of Crocin and Safranal (Lepticrosalides®) from the raw material affron®.
With the best raw materials: affron® is the global benchmark for saffron extracts
At HSN, we have seen many brand-name manufacturers of herbal extracts. However, not all of them provide clear benefits over good quality, unbranded raw materials.
At HSN, we do not need to display labels that have no real benefits to highlight our products, as they are all developed with the utmost care and thoroughness in reviewing the quality of their ingredients, but we do value quality patents.
A clear example of this is affron®.

Pharmactive’s Affron® is a registered trademark of saffron stigma extract developed through a patented cold extraction process without the use of aggressive solvents. This is key to establishing the quality of the extract used, as it determines its chemical constituent content.
Thanks to this, Pharmactive has obtained a patented blend of the two compounds naturally present in the stigma of saffron which is most appreciated. These are: Crocin and safranal.
You will find it as Lepticrosalides®. A component of affron®, which has won international awards for quality and innovation.
With a careful selection of vitamins to obtain the best nutritional properties
Not all vitamins are the same, and although it is often said that ‘a vitamin B12 is a vitamin B12’, this statement could not be more wrong.
Vitamins come in various forms that allow one type of kinetics or another to be obtained, a clear example being precisely the case of B12.
Why do we use methylcobalamin and not cyanocobalamin in our Mood Care?
Cobalamin, or vitamin B12, can be found in different forms, the most common being cyano- and methyl-cobalamin.
Methylcobalamin is the most effective form to add to food supplements because while cyanocobalamin needs to go through conversion processes in the body to become an active or ‘usable’ form, methylcobalamin is already active from the moment it is taken, so it is 100% bioavailable and effective.
In addition, the folic acid provided by Mood Care is the most researched form of vitamin B9 for central, emotional, and cognitive processes: calcium methylfolate.
This form has established itself as the worldwide reference for the best form of folic acid. Recent studies have concluded that its absorption, metabolisation, and overall complete bioavailability are the best.
Trust HSN: We select the best available forms of the compounds used in the development of our food supplements.

But it is not only that; undoubtedly the clearest and most direct effect of its composition is the fact that compounds such as the vitamin B12 it contains contribute to normal psychological function.
Nonetheless, its herbal extracts have a wide variety of specific functions, most notably:
- It contributes to optimal relaxation and is used to reduce restlessness, effects associated with lavender.
- It helps maintain a positive mood, thanks to its contribution of Saffron.

Frequently asked questions about Mood Care and its suitability for different contexts
Do I need Mood Care? Who is it recommended for?
Mood Care is a food supplement suitable for most of the adult population.
You don’t necessarily need a noticeable mood boost. Perhaps you may be simply going through a period of high stress due to work or studies and need a supplement to support your daily diet with important nutrients for mood and psychological function. In short:
- People looking for a supplement to support their mood.
- People who experience apathy typical of periods of high workload.
- Women in the luteal phase, close to menstruation, seeking mood support.
Can I take less than the indicated dose? And more?
HSN recommends the use of the daily dose established in the product. In this case, take two vegetable capsules a day, and we do not recommend exceeding this dose unless medical advice has established a pattern of use greater than that recommended.
Taking less, such as 1 vegetable capsule per day means that the number of compounds ingested is less than recommended, and the effects attributed to Mood Care may be lost or at least reduced in effectiveness.
We recommend using the product at the prescribed dose of 1 vegetable capsule twice a day.
Are there any contraindications?
Mood Care has no contraindications in healthy people; if you have a condition that requires medical attention, and/or are receiving pharmacological treatment, please consult your doctor.
Can I combine it with other supplements? HSN experts answer!
Of course! Mood Care can be combined with any other food supplement. It is ideal for use in combination with Evoptogen during periods of high physical and/or psychological stress; and Stress Care for periods of high-stress management needs.
Can I take it if I use medication for emotional enhancement?
It is not suitable for use in combination with medicines without prior assessment of their appropriate use by the prescribing doctor.
What time of day is it best to take it?
You can take it at different times, but the recommendation of HSN specialists for maximum efficacy is to split the doses:
1 in the morning and 1 in the evening.
Enjoy the maximum effects of Mood Care’s unbeatable compounds!
